Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals and piano), Brian May (lead guitar and vocals), Roger Taylor (drums and vocals) and John Deacon (bass guitar).
To date Queen sold up to 300 million records, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists. Queen received the Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award from the British Phonographic Industry in 1990 and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Each member has composed hit singles, and all four were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2018, they were presented the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991 from a complication of AIDS. His legendary legacy lives on.
